Dow COP are Dinner Guests
at the Midland Country Club

Hosts Mike and Nina Cronenberger, Bill and Barbara Brennan, and Daryl and Suzette Zeilenak invited Dow COP students to a fun-filled evening of dining, conversation, and lessons in etiquette and social courtesies, earlier this fall, at the Midland Country Club. The students dressed in their finest to attend this very special event.

Throughout the course of the evening the students enjoyed a four-course meal served in a formal dining room. Students and adults alike shared stories about the differences between dining at home and dining in public settings. The hosts really enjoyed listening to the students talk about how they “eat on the run” at home and sometimes experience somewhat of a Darwinian mealtime, or “survival of the fittest” behavior between siblings. It was also nice to hear how some students, like Nathan Brooks of Shepherd, still have traditional family-style dinners every evening.

The entire dinner group discussed the various benefits of practicing rules of etiquette & courtesy when dining away from home in settings such as awards banquets, interviews, and professional meetings. Table conversation was lively, enlightening, and at all times friendly & relaxed. In the end, all agreed that we can never be too courteous or too polite.

Dow COP would like to thank their wonderful hosts, Mike and Nina Cronenberger, Bill and Barbara Brennan, and Daryl and Suzette Zeilenak who made the evening such a special and enriching experience for everyone!
