ACCENTURE
Lends a Helping Hand

Each summer the West Midland Family Center (WMFC) hosts two summer programs for the children and teens in our community. Due to space constraints, WMFC has partnered with the Bullock Creek School District to host our "Play With A Purpose" Summer Program, at the Floyd Elementary School. This means "relocating" approximately 80 kindergarten through second grade children, "down the road" to Floyd Elementary School every summer.

At the beginning of each summer, WMFC staff must transport equipment from the WMFC and Bullock Creek Community preschools in order to "transform" five Floyd Elementary School classrooms into five early childhood classrooms that can be used during the summer program. At the end of each summer, the WMFC staff must then return all of the equipment back to the preschools in order to ready the classrooms for the upcoming school year.

This year, the WMFC staff had some extra "muscle" on moving day...

ACCENTURE is a global management consulting, technology service & outsourcing company helping clients become high-performance business and governments. ACCENTURE staff members stepped up at the end of this summer to lend a much needed "helping hand" to WMFC.

For four very hot, humid hours, approximately 19 ACCENTURE volunteers helped WMFC staff move equipment in and out of Floyd Elementary School and WMFC. ACCENTURE "jumped in with both feet" and removed shade canopies, pulled up fencing, moved picnic tables, cleared out classrooms, loaded and unloaded trucks and trailers, and cleaned up playgrounds...and yet this is only a partial list of what they accomplished.

WMFC can’t thank Mark Faucher and his team enough for all the hard work that they provided. The energy and enthusiasm in each and every volunteer was so evident as they worked tirelessly throughout the day to accomplish this huge task. It was our pleasure to be able to work alongside such an amazing group of individuals.
