2009 Winter League

• Player Fee: $50.00. (No team fee.)
  All players must pay their fees BEFORE they play their first game.

• Game Dates: Tuesday Nights Jan. 13, 20, 27, Feb. 3, 10, 17, 24, March 3, 10, 17 (March 24-make up date)

• November 17, 2008: 2009 Winter League Registration Opens.

• 6:00 PM, January 6, 2009:Registration Closes for Winter Basketball League.

• January 6, 2009, 5:30 PM:Winter Basketball League Managers Meeting

• January 8, 2009: Winter Basketball League Game Schedules emailed.

• Tuesday, January 13, 2009:First Winter League Games.

• Tuesday, March 20, 2009:Game Makeup date

• Tuesday, March 17, 2009: Winter League Championship Tournament.
  Team placings for the tournament are determined by team win/loss records for the season.

• March 21, 2009: WMFC March Madness Tournament

Frequently Asked Questions


What if I want to play but do not have a team to play with?
Players who do not have a team to register with, may call or email, and leave their name, address, phone number and email address. Their contact information will be given to the team managers. If a team is in need of another player, the team manager will contact you.


How do I register my team?
You may register at the WMFC Front Desk by filling out the team registration form and paying for at least one of your players. All other player fees are due BEFORE your teams first game is played.


What if our team manager cannot attend the managers meeting?
Either have another player attend in your manager's place, OR have your manager give the WMFC Recreation Director a call BEFORE the meeting so that she can review the materials that will be gone over at the meeting, with your manager. Managers are strongly urged to attend the manager meeting because this is where rule and league changes are discussed and voted upon at the beginning or each season.


Can I play on 2 teams that are both in the WMFC League?
Yes, but you will need to pay two player fees.


Can I bring my children with me while I play?
Children are welcome to come and watch but they must be supervised by an adult at all times. Children are not allowed to leave the gym area or roam around the facility on their own unless they are 15 years old or older.


Is there a time that my team can come and practice?
Yes, gym drop in times are available each week. Every Monday night one of our gyms is specifically set aside for Drop In Basketball. Other times are also available during the week.Please call the WMFC Front desk to ask for specific times. The phone number is: 832-3256. Cost for drop in is $1.00, payable at the Front Desk.


Do you have a WMFC League Manual that I can get a copy of?
Yes,just contact the WMFC Recreation Director at 832-3256 and he/she will make sure that you get one OR you can download one from our website at www.wmfc.org


Do you have good officials?
Yes, we hire the best officials that we can find, and typically our officials are ones that have been with us for many years.


If a game is cancelled because of weather, does it get made up?
Yes, if games that are cancelled because of "Acts of God" they will be made up on the scheduled make-up date IF the total number of games per team for the season falls below 10.
