Dow COP

Dow College Opportunity Program
The Dow College Opportunity Program (COP) helps enrich students' lives and prepare them for college. It's a long-term program that begins in the freshman year of high school and continues through college graduation.

Area high school students accepted to the program receive four years of activities and opportunities to help them be successful on their journey to and through college. Each year's activities include an assortment of academic support, travel, cultural exposure, volunteering, and social events. Every summer includes week-long trips that serve the capstone of the year's activities.

In addition, and perhaps most importantly, the Program Director serves as a mentor for students. The Program Director attends extra-curricular events and parent-teacher conferences, and provides special one-on-one attention. As students head to college, they are assisted in obtaining financial aid and scholarships. Once in college, they recieve contined support, guidance, and assistance in financial matters.

Students interested in the Dow COP program should apply before their first semester of ninth grade.
