West Midland Family Center (WMFC) and Bullock Creek Community (BCC) Preschools Great Start Readiness Programs Member's of the Midland County Quality Preschool Partnership **Always Accepting New Student Applications** The WMFC and BCC Preschools offer Great Start Readiness Programs that are developmentally appropriate. This program offers experienced and caring staffing, a fun learning environment, kindergarten readiness skills, family support services, family event nights, transportation (for those in need), only to name a few! Thanks to funding through the Michigan Department of Education, the West Midland Family Center and the Bullock Creek School District are able to offer these FREE Great Start Readiness Programs to all eligible children. Children must be 4 years old by December 1 of the enrolling year in order to apply. To be eligible for this program, your child must meet at least 2 of 25 criteria set forth by the State of Michigan. Please contact us for more information. Staffing Lead teachers have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a ZA endorsement in Early Childhood Education. Our teacher assistants also have either an Associates Degree or a CDA (Child Development Certification). Staff members annually attend early childhood conferences to learn and explore new ideas, and to learn the latest research in child development. With an adult to child ratio of 1 to 6, our program exceeds licensing requirements of 1 to 9. Program Information All classes operate Monday through Thursday and follow the Bullock Creek School District Calendar. WMFC: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM BCC: 8:15 AM - 3:15 PM Once a month, families take part in Parent Education and Involvement Opportunties. Opportunities can include dinner, guest speakers, crafts and games. West Midland Family Center also offers a Great Start Readiness Program with the Chippewa Nature Center.
