Weekend Policies and Guidelines


Friday Night Activities/Teen Dance

West Midland Family Center is reserved for teen activities on Friday evenings.

Friday Night Drop-in Activities

  • Drop-in activities are from 7:00 PM-8:00 PM.

  • The gyms and teen activity room will be open for use.

  • The transition between Drop-in Activities and Organized Activities is to begin at 7:45 PM.

  • All students under the 6th grade are prohibited from attending Friday Night Activities.

Friday Night Organized Activities

  • Organized activities begin at 8:00 PM with a D.J. hosted dance, teen activity room, concession stand, and open gym.

  • Students participating in the Organized Activities shall register and sign in once they arrive. (Only 7th to 12th grade students are allowed to participate after 7:00 PM.)

  • Students must be currently enrolled in school with proof of enrollment. Acceptable proofs of enrollment include:

    • School ID

    • Yearbook with picture

    • A letter from the school on letterhead stating that you are currently enrolled.

    • A driver’s license is NOT proof of school enrollment.

    • Students enrolled in an alternative school must be under 19 years of age.


  • A $2.00 admittance fee is required of all students.

  • Only staff shall be allowed behind the front desk, or in the office area.

  • Students are to sign-in at the front desk and receive a bracelet to prove they’ve signed in.

  • Students shall not leave the building without a staff escort. Reentrance for unescorted students is prohibited. Students shall be required to leave the premises.

  • All students must have a ride arranged by 11:00 AM. Staff shall not provide transportation for students unless approved by a supervisor.

Saturday Night Activities

Saturday night the West Midland Family Center hosts a teen and youth program that is open to students between the grades of 2-12. There are supervised, planned activities, and great facilities to keep everyone busy. The teen activity room, two gyms, and Skylight room are open. Older teens and parents are allowed to participate if they adhere to our posted adult guidelines.

  • Youth are defined as children grade 2-6.

  • Teens are defined as grade 7-12.

  • Teens and youth will have separate activity rooms, staff, and gyms.

  • Hallways and lobby must be clear.

  • Students are not allowed outside without a staff member as an escort.

  • Only registered users between the grades 2-12 are allowed past the front desk. All bingo players must stay on the lobby side of the desk.

  • No one over the 12th grade is permitted to purchase food from the Saturday Night Program.

  • Only staff is allowed behind the front desk and in the office area.

  • Students are to adhere to the behavior policies. Parents must pick their children up if their behavior is inappropriate.

  • Adults (18 & over) may take part in Saturday Night Activities if they are accompanying their child. Adults must act in a manner that is consistent with the quality of the programs we are offering our teens. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Examples of acceptable, appropriate behavior:

    • Interacting in a positive manner with other users.

    • Acting as a positive role model to younger users.

    • Helping staff with various duties whenever asked.

    • Adults are to use Gym B for recreational activities.


  • Examples of behavior unacceptable and inappropriate:

    • Flirting with younger users.

    • Harassing/threatening/bullying other users.

    • Inappropriate language or conversation.

    • Overpowering a game or activity with younger users

    • Arguing with or disrespecting staff, users, or volunteers.


  • Adults are not allowed to use the teen room for socializing purposes.

  • Adults exhibiting unacceptable or inappropriate behavior will be asked to leave immediately. Adults must check in with the nightly supervisor
